I was just at intuit's site and checked out Quicken for home & business ($80). Anyone have experience with it? Any suggestions, I'm just starting as an IC and want to make sure I am keeping good books...because Uncle Sam is a Mutha!

Morning!

I don't know about the home and business version (which I will probably have to purchase myself) but I do use the regualr version and love it. I also do my own taxes with TurboTax and they sync up real nice when it's tax time. I have tried other accounting software but keep coming back to Quicken. I also have a pocket version on my Palm Pilot (great for traveling) and use that religiously. I am sure you will happy with your purchase.

Hi Phoenix --

I love Quicken. It is so easy to use. You set up categories for your expenses and income, which makes it very easy to set up and print whatever reports you need to do your tax return. It's also easy to change things after they're set up -- very important for the first time around!

Hi Phoenix!

My parents have a small business and I helped set them up with QuickBooks from Intuit. I have to say that this is THE best small business program! It is very easy to use and it does just about everything. You can put in your checking account, do invoices, P&L sheets, a general ledger, payables and receivables, and all of the end of the year tax stuff. Also, they have very little experience using a computer and the program is really easy to for them to use.
