I just found this place and it's great. I have a full-time job transcribing, but now I have the possibility to have one doctor to do his dictation as well as an IC. I saw a call in dictation that is a lot less expensive thatn the digital systems. Does anyone have any opinions if the call-in system would be alright for just one doctor. (I don't think I want to add anymore, since I already have a full-time job). Sorry this was so long, thanks.

I think call-in dictation would be fine for 1 doctor. Remember that it will tie up a line the whole time he is dicatating, though.

Another option you might consider: I've seen where you can lease the use of a digital system from other companies. I think a service I used to work for did it. You pay per minute dictated. It might be cheaper than having to buy the call-in system and pay the monthly fee for an additional line if you don't already have one.

I would have to agree. For one doctor a call in system may be good. However some companies when you do go by minutes....some plans they have may be too large for one Doctor per month. Another option would be to use a digital handheld recorder by Olympus or Philips and have those files sent to you via Email. For one doctor this maybe be a better choice, although the upfront cost may be more, you will still save money in the long run compared to cassette dictation and transcription.
