kkb Pinnacle Gabber Registered: 07/24/99 Posts: 1497 Loc: Maine	An MT is a medical transcriptionist. An MT can be an employee or self-employed. An IC is an independent contractor. In our case it is a medical transcriptionist who is self-employed and has to pay his/her own taxes, Social Security, equipment, etc. _________________________ kkb (Karyn), who considered herself a newbie after 18 years doing MT and even though she is no longer working in the field, still remembers what it was like to be a newbie!
