It is always used in the context of an IV or oral antibiotic, usually for pneumonia or upper respiratory infection, but I have heard it used in treatment of sepsis also. I type for Anaheim General Hospital and also for Memorial Hospital of Gardena, and I have heard doctors use it in both hospitals. I have looked and looked, however, and cannot find this medication anywhere. They are clearly saying Levoquin.. I wondered if maybe they were meaning Levoxine, but they are pronouncing it with that very distinct Q sound in it.
