Hi--Most national services use VR (voice recognition)for a great deal of their work, from what I've heard. If it is available where you work, perhaps they are waiting until you have more experience before starting you on it. This is the case with seasoned MTs--they don't usually start them on VR work until they have been there a few months. Definitely make your employer aware that you are interested, as many MTs don't like it as much as straight transcription.
AHDI has an on-line editing course if you are interested. Passing that might help in your goal to get into VR. Here is the link:
http://www.ahdionline.org/ContinuingEduc...17/Default.aspxMany MTs don't like VR since the pay is lower and they feel that they spend more time editing than they would have if they had transcribed the document themselves, so the fact that you enjoy it is a plus. I used to edit documents from the overflow service (a national company) at the hospital I worked at and there were many times I could have transcribed it faster than the editing took, but I can see both sides of the issue.
Good luck!
