I went through the exact same thing last year that you are now facing. We were all offered jobs with the outsourcing company (it wasn't Nuance). I did the math, and with the increased health insurance premium ($200 more a month and not even the same coverage)and the pay (just over half of what I was making before), I decided not to take it.
I knew we were being paid well before. The line rate for transcription services isn't much higher now than it was when I worked for one in 1996 (it was 7 cents a line back then). I was offered 8.25 cents per line, I believe, and that was for second shift. So now I'm in school and am changing careers after almost 19 years of being a medical transcription. For me it no longer provides a living wage.
