If there is any interest, I'll make more "EDUCATIONAL" type posts like this. Just reply to this thread.

What a difference a letter can make:

Dysphagia: Difficulty in swallowing.
dyspahgia (noun) Condition in which swallowing is difficult or painful
Dysphasia / Aphasia: A language disorder in which there is an impairment of speech and of comprehension of speech. (such as with TIA's for example) / inability to use or understand language (spoken or written) because of a brain lesion or injury.

I believe Dysphasia and Aphasia are synonymous terms?

But for dysphaGia and dysphaSia a numonic to make it easier to remember - the G in dyphasia, think of as GI (as in gastrointestinal)

Keep it coming and add such things as the difference between follow-up, followup, follow up and its and it's, etc. Always love info of any kind! Thanks, WT!

more on the way, just a time issue, but I jot notes as I think of them. I've got some really good ones coming up with one letter differences as in this case, etc.

Oh definitely, I am very interested in words, and I learn something new every day about them. I am interested in how languages evolved from monosyllabic grunts to modern communication, affected by climate, physiology, etc!

I'd like to read more about the use and overuse of commas. That has become a beef with me...I mean, a PROBLEM for me, vs QA where I work. They tell me I'm not using enough commas, but when I try to appease them I am told I've used too many!
