Taking suggestions on finding a job

Maybe it's because I want to work from home, but I cannot find a job. I have been looking for 6 weeks now. I have my resume posted at Monster, CareerBuilder, Jobrapido, Indeed, SimplyHired. I go to these sites everyday and look for openings. I spend at least two hours per day doing this. They have multiple postings for jobs at locations in other states, but no at-home work. I am starting to get very discouraged. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Caw, Before I started with the course, I contacted a couple local facilities to see what their requirements were and I was told that they have you work for a couple of months in-house to get you familiar with their setup and forms, then they set you up at your home.
Good luck with your search.

It took me about 4 weeks and I applied to many different companies. I was getting discouraged as well. Finally, Nuance transcription contacted me. I work from home. I don't know if you want to try them.

Hi, I'm new to this board. I am in the same position. Just graduated last week from MT Advantage Career Center and have been looking for work. Have put out 17 resumes so far and got 5 definite 'no, we need more experience' responses. It is frustrating. The vicious circle of "I need a job. You have no experience. How can I get any if you don't hire me?" I have been trying to get in with smaller companies but haven't had much luck so far. I really don't want to try MedQuist because I haven't seen good things about them on other forums. What has your experience been with Nuance? I've heard good and bad about them and had them on the back burner because they are also a large corporation. But, if I can get hired and get some experience, it may be the way I have to go. Thanks for any helpful input.

Hi, I just graduated from At-Home Professions and applied at many places. Two of them called me back. And I was told that they would give me a job if the school was ahdi approved, and its not. I am so upset... Anyone else had this problem? What do I do now??? Any help would me much appreciated.

I think I would definitely call the school and ask why we aren't ahdi approved. I was under the impression that I would be able to get a job after finishing this course. Why haven't any of the previous grads been back on here, filling us in on their progress?? I sure would like to know if they have found jobs.

The school I graduated from, MT Advantage Career Center, is in the process of becoming AHDI certified and they told me it takes almost a year to get approved. It is a long process. Check out mtrecruiters.com. I saw an ad posted for them today and they said they have entry level work as well as work for experienced transcribers. I've been looking for almost 2 weeks so I can relate to your experience. Keep plugging away. Good luck.
