Hello All,

I'm new here and am really looking for advice on what's next for my transcription life. I worked for a hospital for 10 years until they outsourced us a few months ago. I have been utterly miserable since. I feel they are trying to push out all the transcriptionists they took on from the hospital. My issue is I'm not sure a big transcription company will ever be for me. Any suggestions?? Anybody work for a really good company and are happy?? I find the company I am with isolating and like I said the general thought is they took the employees when they got the account, but have slowly been weeding us out or pushing us out. HELP, DESPERATE!!

I understand what you are feeling. You have been forced into making a change since the hospital outsourced your job. So now you are in a situation beyond your control. Working on-line is much different. You have to produce much more, and even get paid less at times. My first question is, how long has it been since you have gone home and are working for this company. It does take some time to get used to working basically "independently." Then, after you decide if you have given it enough time, I would say if you are still not happy to look into other options. I worked in a hospital setting for a long time, but it was my choice to leave and go to a big company on-line. It took me a year to get used to it. I really like the fact I work from home and really feel independent of it all. The thing I do not like is the pay. The fact you have to produce so much to make so little, but that is because of speech recog. Hope that helps. If more questions, I will be glad to try and anser.
