I have finish all my transcripts for my final and I am going over them now before I send it in. Once you send it in will I get the chance to get it back and make corrections, like we do with all the quiz's or is it a 1 time shot type of thing. I'm so nervous right now I'm sick. I want the best grade I can get! Thanks to anyone that replies!

You are given 3 chances to pass the final. If you don't then you have to redo the entire course.

Hi! I was just reading this thread and Allied caught my eye. That is where I took my training and I loved it!! I have recently graduated from there and I have been on the search to find my dream work-at-home position.
Danita, after you graduated, was it difficult to get employment? Just curious, wanting to know what to expect.
Thanks! Shelly

Hi Shelly,
I just graduated this week from Allied. I am waiting ot hear from their career center. I am looking to work-at-home but I also have to get a release from my doctor to go back to work as I am on permanent disability. I took 4 medical courses through Allied through the Department of Rehabilitation.

Hi Shelley and Danita, I am almost at my finals with Allied. How did you both find the course? Did you think they seemed to "change" their ideas depending on what format you sent in? I find that no matter what I do it seems to be wrong. My papers are never a great percent and a friend of mine who just passed in Canada said that the interviewer required a 97% rate on 3 papers she did, in order for her to get the job. I am worried that I'll never go from high 70% and low 80% to 97! Do you think the course is tougher than the "real world?" I'll be interested to know your thoughts. Jackie

Jackie,
I am having that same experience. I just can't seem to get it right. I have just sent in chapter 16 and am awaiting my score. I have already typed the final transcriptions but don't have the confidence to send them when I'm finished with 17. I'm not sure how I passed the mid-terms. I seriously can't wait until this is behind me.

Hi there!
My experience with Allied was pretty great, at least in the beginning. I never really called student services much and just figured things out on my own basically.
I also definitely experienced the same thing. To me it was a constant 'change' in what they wanted. I would do things their way and have points taken off. It was strange, but somehow pulled through. Danita that is awesome taking so many courses....maybe I'll do that eventually too.
Take care! Shelly

You and me both. I am struggling on my finals now. They say research, but I can't seem to find what I need ANYWHERE! It is a nightmare. My head, neck and back aches! Oh, I hope I can get it done. I called student services last week, by the way, as the same piece of work was marked differently by two examiners. So much for me trying to proofread, if trained examiners can't!

I know right?!! You will do fine, really you will! Your neck/shoulders/back and whole body might continue hurting but you WILL get through it! LOL!! Yeah, it's frustrating when your own teachers don't know how to keep up with their own rules.

Thanks SMann, I'm not having a good day today. So far I am going to have to flag 6 words, and I hate that idea.

Hi Danita,
When you graduate (if you haven't already!) can you let me know how good your Career Advisor is? I want to see if other's are like mine....I would greatly appreciate it! I hope all is well with you!

Hey Keaki...I hope today is going better for you. You will get there!! Let me know how it's going for you, maybe I could even help you with some stuff. If I've gotten anything from this transcribing it is definitely tons of new books!! I went on a crazed shopping spree at Barnes and Noble....LOL!!
Take care,
Shelly

I would love some help. If this is how long it will take me once I get a job, I am going to be earning a dollar a day!! I have been reading every article and operative report under the sun and still cannot understand this one particular word. He says it twice. It's an ophthalmology operation and it sounds like "sclerosny" I have been very good in not "getting help for tests" but if someone could point me in the right direction, I would gladly do the rest myself! I just keep reading article after article, (aimed for doctors, I must add) and all it's doing is giving me a headache! I have 6 books at my feet - and the internet, but am getting nowhere. Unfortunately the tape goes loud and soft as well, so that doesn't help. Whatever this sclerosny is, it is internal and under the scleral flap. While i'm at it, ever heard of protheradectomy, (again it's what it sounds like)and "aggressive" aqueous? Thanks.

Keaki, if you gave us complete sentences we might be able to help. Your sound-likes don`t mean anything to me without context. It would also be good to know just what the operation is.
happy tuesday carol

Thanks.. " The internal ??? (sclerosny sounds like)was then created under the scleral flap using a #75 Beaver blade." The same word is used again, "This internal ??? measured 1 x 2.5 mm." The next difficult word sounded like prothyroidectomy, but I wondered if it was pro - something sclerectomy. Finally it sounds as if he is saying AGGressive aqueous. "Once the aggressive aqueous was found to be appropriate the sutures were permently tied and the knots buried." This is an operation on chronic open-angle glaucoma. Thank you so much. :-)

I sent the finals in yesterday. Thanks though. I looked at so many operative reports I feel like a surgeon. I'll let you all know how I did - when I hear. After all the research into words and names of things, if I fail on commas being in the wrong places, I'll scream! :-)

Terri, Sorry that I missed your post in the last few days. I agree with wanting to get it all behind you. I have done nothing but work on the last remaining part of the course and then the finals for the last few weeks; so much so that nothing has been getting done in the house here! Today I am giving myself the luxury of a clean house. My husband will be pleased, I'm sure - and then tomorrow, I think I need to shop for groceries and stock up our pantry/freezer again! Oh the joys of normal living!! I think that inconsistancies in grading and struggling with these last few papers is a common complaint. Good luck with Chapters 16 and 17 and let me know how you do. I now wait for my finals to be marked. I am sure to be irritated when I see the comments! All I care is that I PASS!!!! I just want it over, too, and certainly don't want to do anymore for a while! Have a good day
