Ok, I am working on quiz 25 for At-home professions. I have a quick question. In my note cards I am learning to spell marijuana like marihuana. Just not sure when I should use it. The doctor said marijuana but I'm not sure if I should put down marihuana since it was in my note cards.

Either spelling is acceptable.

I've always seen it spelled marijuana. I wasn't aware that it is also spelled marihuana. I looked it up in my Taber's medical dictionary and they have it listed with both spellings, marijuana and marihuana.

It is spelled as marijuana only no two spellings for this.

I found both on line, with marihuana being an acceptable alternate spelling (which was news to me so I learned something).

I don't know how your program works, but if it were me and I was transcribing this in the real world I would transcribe as dictated--marijuana. If he had said marihuana I would have transcribed that. Your program might have a different philosophy, though.

This may be true. However, it is perfectly acceptable, in America, to use either spelling UNLESS one is specified by the health institution you are transcribing for. In the AHP coursework you may feel more comfortable using "marihuana" simply because it was introduced to you within that lesson.
