These are my top 5, not really blockbusters like Titanic or Pearl Harbor, but I enjoy watching these over and over again (although occasionally I move one out of the top 5 and replace it with another one).

#1 - Funny Farm - Chevy Chase and Madolyn Smith. We watch this as a family every Christmas. A classic! This has been in the #1 spot for several years.

#2 - The Bridges of Madison County - Meryl and Clint - What a combo!

#3 - Ghost - Whoopi, Patrick Swayze, and Demi Moore - Fun mixed with suspense.

#4 - The Sixth Sense - Every time I watch this, I see something I missed the time before.

#5 - TIE (I'm cheating here!) - Groundhog Day, Moonstruck, Chocolat, The Ten Commandments.

What about yours??

Wow Tonetta, this is a REALLY tough question. I am an old movie junkie! Here goes:

#1 - AN AFFAIR TO REMEMBER - No matter how many times I watch this, I always cry at the end. Sleepless in Seattle was a good remake with Meg Ryan and Tom Hanks replacing Cary Grant and Deborah Kerr.

#2 - IT'S A WONDERFUL LIFE - We always watch this one at Christmas along with A Christmas Story.

#3 - GASLIGHT - I think it is one of Ingrid Bergman's best movies.

#4 - GUESS WHO'S COMING TO DINNER - A great movie about tolerance. The last movie with Spencer Tracy and Katherine Hepburn was one of their best.

#5 - OVERBOARD - Not as old as the others, but Goldie Hawn is great in this movie.

Also, if you get a chance to watch any of the movies that were made between 1929-1934 you would be amazed. This was before the Hayes Act that started censoring movie content to save the morals of the country. A lot of the same things that happen now were happening then, they just didn't want to talk about it after 1934!

#2 - A Christmas story (another christmas tradition)
#3 - Gone in 60 Seconds (just a fun car movie)
#4 - The Green Mile (very amazing movie)
#5 - Saving Private Ryan (very educational yet also a deep story)
#6 - The Lion King (a fun movie yet a tear jerker at times)
#7 - Christmas Vacation (those darn Griswolds)

I didn't count the Christmas movies. My top 5 Christmas faves are:

#1 - Funny Farm
#2 - It's Wonderful Life
#3 - Emmett Otter's Junk-Band Christmas
#4 - A Christmas Carol (we have 3 versions, 1938 with Reginald Owen and Gene Lockhart, 1951 with Alastair Sim, and 1984 with George C. Scott).
#5 - TIE (cheating again!) - Miracle on 34th Street, Frosty the Snowman, The Santa Clause with Tim Allen, Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer.

We have a couple of family video nights during the holidays just to wind down and enjoy each other's company. It's one of my favorite times of year, and I usually really go hog wild with everything. I want to "make memories" for my kids and grandkids.

Have a great day! wavey

Christmas just wouldn't be the same without having the little ones around, would it! My favorite is when my 3-year-old great nephew opened a present last year to find a shirt and pair of pants. He became so excited about it saying "I got clothes! Oh my gosh, I got clothes". That little guy would not opened any more presents until he stripped down and put them on! This video will become a favorite!

That sounds so cute!!! I love watching home movies from when I was little on Christmas...I got excited over the littlest things. Which is how it should be...kids these days only want whats new, big, and expensive. Not all kids, but a lot. It is good to hear of a child getting excited over clothes. Very rare wink

Hmm, that is tough. I would have to say:
1. Wizard of Oz.
2. Gone With the Wind.
3. Schindler's List
4. Anything with Scooby Doo in it
5. Anything Abbott and Costello.
