I'm proud of myself. My family went to Disneyland, and I just finished printing about 150 digital pictures. Believe me, with the trimming, fixing red eyes, sizing, and all the other things I did --- I know I spent about 10 straight hours on this project.

But - the pictures are great! I really love my digital camera. People think I'm the greatest photographer now. I'm not. It's the camera and software that makes the great pictures...not me.

The important thing is that now I have pictures that are 100 times better than the ones I used to take.

Fun fun fun.......

PS - Boy is Micky Mouse photogenic!

HEY CAROL:

Congratulations on getting your pictures done so quick. It usually takes me forever to get that all done.

Talking about Disney Land makes me want to go back. We had so much fun there. The kiddos thought was the greatest ever.

What kind of digital camera and software did you get? We've been considering getting one. My hubby enjoys new little toys like that. My Mom got one of the little $89 ones and liked it so well that she went back and bought a little better one. Aren't they great.

Carol Jean! We're off to Disneyland next week! Wouldn't it have been funny if we'd been there at the same time?! We've never been - never had time or $$ to take a Disneyland vacation, but we are doing it this year! The boys are so excited - give me tips - what shouldn't a 5 and 2 year old miss?!
The snow is melting today and it's just beautiful. Maybe when we return we'll actually see grass beginning to turn green! Have a great day!

I didn't go ---I sent my family.

My 6-year-old granddaughter's favorite rides were the "Teacups" and "Peter Pan" something. She also loved all the Disneyland characters. I guess the "Electric Parade" is awesome.

I'll ask my daughter (who was on this trip) what she thinks might be the best rides for the little kids.. and get back with you.

They did go to and hear Cinderella tell a story. I guess the kids really liked that.

They saw a Buzz Lightyear show - liked that!

Bye for now....

Camera - Kodac
Batteries (made for digital cameras)
AC adapter
Battery charger
Memory board (holds pictures)
Printer - Epson Stylus
Software - Photo Delux (very easy to use).
(You can buy this for about $39 if you
need it.)
Photo paper - Epson - Heavy Matte finish.
(I like this "flat finish."
Reasonably priced.

** Usually a Memory board - batteries - and some other things will come with your camera... even software - a battery charter, etc.
--------------------

My advise is to buy the most expensive and best camera you can afford. (There is a lot of information on the Internet - you can get a lot of education there.)

I do know a lot of people who have purchased an inexpensive camera - and they aren't really happy with it. They plan to buy a "better one" in the future.

ALSO - be sure and get a camera that is simple and user-friendly. You want a "stand and shoot-type camera." Mine camera is very easy to use - with all the usual adjustments "if I want to use them."

If you get one that is too complicated - you won't enjoy using it. Leave these cameras for the professional photographers.

-----------

Getting all of this stuff is actually pretty expensive. But you do save some money by not having to buy film or paying for developing.

However you have your initial outlay for the above equipment - plus printer cartridges and paper.

---------------------

The main reasons I love it are:

I can delete pictures I don't like as I go and free space up for more pictures.

I can print only the pictures I like.

I can manipulate, trim, and improve the pictures I do print.

I can E-mail pictures.

I can do all this at home.

BUT MOST OF ALL - my pictures are great!

**** I want to add that I have never really been a camera person. I would take a roll here - a roll there - and most of my pictures were really never very good. Now I take pictures all the time, work with them, and I have photos that are the envy of everyoneBye. This has become a great hobby for me.

-----------------------

I feel like I am an advertisement.

Just remember - Buy the best "user-friendly" camera you can afford.

And - educate yourself on the Internet.

That sounds like a great hobby. We actually get a tax refund this year (believe that or not)and we want to buy something fun, my husband was kind of thinking about a DVD player. I think we would have more fun with the digital camera though, taking pictures of the new baby (she's 9 months old tomorrow) and my teenaged daughter who is 12 and loves to pose for the camera. Deleting off pictures you don't like and the e-mailing pictures would be really nice.

Your right about getting the best one you can afford that is user friendly. The first one my Mom got didn't take very good pictures and she had a hard time keeping the battery charged up. I guess you get what you pay for.

My kids are on Spring Break next week, they get to sleep in and have a fun week, they are so excited and I am too; to stop the rat race for a week. laugh

I'm going to call it a night. Thank goodness tomorrow is Friday, does anyone else agree with that? sleep

I agree - I am glad it's Friday.

You definitely show have a digital camera with a new baby and other children. You will treasure the pictures you take.

Batteries --- get the ones that are for digital cameras - the rechargable ones.

My nephew has been buying regular batteries and told me they don't last very long, and he is going broke buying them.

Mine cost about $18 (I think) for two. I have two sets and have used them for two years. I just keep recharging them. I can't see that I will every have to buy batteries again.

I do hope you get your camera.....if you do get one and have any questions, please E-mail me. I don't know a lot - but I have mine up and running and am printing great pictures at home. Love it!
