Does anyone besides me have a puppy ---one that goes completely bonkers when you get home....actually I have two dogs and two cats. When I head for home, I don't feel, "Oh boy, I can walk in my house and 'relax'" I know I am going to have about half an hour of complete bedlam - love and kisses and summersaults and running around and having to go out and having to come in, etc.

I hope I'm not the only one in the world that has a bunch of pets at home. I call it "exhausting love." I am single and live alone - so I get it all.

Hope you all have a great evening - it's about 9:00 here in Spokane where I live. We are starting to see "a little spring peeking through." It's getting lighter in the mornings and staying lighter longer in the evening. Pretty soon we'll all be out doing yardwork. Fun fun! (We still do have some a little snow left on the ground - and it's still fairly cold - but getting better every day.)

Bye for now.....

Hi guys:
Yes, we are animal lovers here too. We currently have two cats, one pitch black cat named Rudy and the other, a long, silky-haired white and marmalade cat named Annabelle (both were rescue cats brought home by one of our sons). Our dog, Misha, a golden retriever, we had since she was about seven weeks old and when our son moved out he took Misha with him but drops Misha off with us for visits if he is not going to be able to get home to take her out for a walk at lunchtime. Misha is a beautiful 12-year-old dog now whose one and only litter of 7 puppies was born in our diningroom. Talk about bedlam!! I can't imagine life without a pet now.
Here in Nova Scotia the weather is starting to get quite mild and the snow has all disappeared (for now). We saw a beautiful yellow bird at the birdfeeder today along with the usual chattering chickadees and bluejays.
Take care.

How wonderful to hear from someone in Nova Scotia. Sounds like your life is a lot like mine. Small world, isn't it?

Your pets all sound great- I am sure it was a real "life experience" having seven puppies born in your dining room. Aren't they darling though?

You and I are talking about spring - I guess if we have any friends in Australia - winter is coming before long - am I right about this???

bye..

Hi Carol
Talking about spring...it is a beautiful day here today. Sunny and warm with a temperature about 8 degrees Celsius (no idea what that is in Fahrenheit but just know you don't need your woolies today). Last night, my son's fiancee told me that she heard Martha Stewart (who should know) say that there is 1 and 1/2 hours more daylight on the last day of March than on the first day of March. Is that possible? Anyway, things are looking very good here right now.

It's funny how it goes in cycles....
About 20 years ago, I had only one cat. She was bored and lonely, so I got a couple of kittens. One thing led to another over the next couple of years, and eventually I had six cats and a dog.

Years go by, age takes its toll, and eventually I had only one cat, who was pretty old herself. My son gave me one of his, and I got another (an elderly gentleman) from my vet. Lady died. Then I took home my son's four female cats last Christmas. Six cats, I thought, that's a good number -- then one of the girls presented me with a kitten at the end of February. So I'm back with seven cats. Some days I think I am too old to look after seven cats, but I don't know what I'd do without them. What in the world to people who have no cats DO when they drop an egg?

Spring is coming to Toronto too -- I have heard a cardinal twice this week, and one of the houses I pass on my morning walks has got crocuses blooming already (they're right up against a basement window, so it's a little warmer than out in the yard. We have had such a mild winter -- there were roses blooming in December!

Hi CarolT
Wow, those are a lot of cats! I love watching the way cats interact with each other though. Sometimes they are so hilarious. Actually, right now, Annabelle is getting hungry and she is stalking back and forth in front of my screen and gently swatting at my hands on the keyboards, so I better go. She only does that when she is hungry (but stalks back and forth everytime she wants attention). They are a riot sometimes!! Can't imagine life without them now.

I'm very glad to see that there are other animal "nuts" out there! In my family, we have 5 dogs, (there were 7, but two of them have passed from old age) 6 cats, 5 goats, a horse and a tortoise.
We have always had many, many animals. Believe it or not, this is few compared to the numbers of 5-6 years ago!!!
The dogs range in age from 2 years to 12 years, our oldest goat has been with us for 16 years, and I have had my horse for almost 30 years!
We definitely have a geriatric center going on! And like many of you have said, I can't imagine life without them. Not to mention that my grandsons love coming to visit them!

Hello everyone:

I have two Yorkshire Terriers. As a hobby I breed them occasionally. My little 3 pound dog had 1 puppy Sunday night. It is so tiny. It's so precious to see what a good Mommy she is. They are such a pleasure to come home to.

All of this talk about Spring makes me want to go work in the flower bed. I enjoy seeing all of my flowers in bloom.

Thank goodness it is almost Friday, TGIF. laugh
