Help! I'm new to this forum, and I'm so lost. I'm switching from my PC to a laptop, from XP to Vista, and from Microsoft Office 2000 to 2007. I cannot figure out an easy way to create and call up macros and autocorrects in MO 2007. The Alt and letter keys don't work the same way. Also, has anyone ever figured out a way to transfer macros and autocorrects from one computer to another? I can't even think about the amount of work it's going to take to recreate my years of shortcuts. Please help a panicky old lady! Thanks!!!

Hi!

Check out www.productivitytalk.com --they are the MT tech experts! I know that issue has been addressed there in the past, so you should be able to find the answer by searching that site.

They will likely have an answer to the macro issue also.

You might want to consider purchasing an expander program--autocorrect has a limited amount of space and can become corrupt. An expander program can be purchased for $100 or less and you can find one that works just like autocorrect with unlimited capacity. Easy to back up and/or move also.

Just a suggestion!

Good luck! That would be a nightmare if you had to re-create them!

Shortkeys is a nice, inexpensive ($20!) and EASY to use, although it does it's drawbacks, as does every program. I like it because it lets me use formatting too.

Thanks very much for the tips! I'll give those a try.

KKB, do we ever NOT feel like newbies? It's been 20 years, and I still learn something new every day. Love this job!!

To export or import AutoCorrect Lists (ACL) files (if you work with more than one language) you might use....

http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/en/co...;displayLang=en

Then, once your list is exported to a file, your expander program "should" (if it's worth the money you paid for it) import the same.

g'luck
