We use this program at our office but now they are sending us home. Does anybody know how to get a printer to work with this old program? I have it on my at home computer (5.1), but have been told it will not be printable. I realize it is a fossil program and all, but I have used it for ten years and would love to be able to use it at home for a while until I learn another program. Any suggestions??

Thanks in advance!

Hey Haps,

I work at home using WP5.1--yes, it's a dinosaur, but I have so many macros, my expander, etc., that I couldn't do it faster on another program (even though I have used WordPerfect and Word for Windows in the past). I have a couple of MT friends who are excellent MTs, very computer savvy, know several programs, and still choose to work in WP5.1, so know you are not alone! The only problem I sometimes have is that I have to pull my completed work into Windows to print in certain fonts.

To answer your question, AllieCat's link is a good one to try. I've personally found that HP printers work best with WP5.1. What I did was, since my printer (I have an HP Laserjet 3100 fax/scan/print/copy printer) was not on the list of printers to select in WP5.1, I just started selecting different ones on the list and then did a test page until it worked. The HP laserjet II worked with mine. If you have any other questions, feel free to ask! There aren't many of us WP5.1ers left (but more than you think!).

Wow, this is like a real dream come true! I had all but given up! I am willing to try a new program, but like you, have used this "dinosaur" for over ten years and really like it! Thank you so much!

I Loved WP5.1. When I updated my computer I, like an idiot, gave my WP5.1 program to the Salvation Army. Ever since, I have been kicking myself, no other program has the same "safe, right feeling".

Does anyone know where I can pick up a copy of WP5.1 now?
